Workshop on PESA Act in Ranchi tomorrow
The Jharkhand government is organizing a workshop in Ranchi on Tuesday with the aim of disseminating awareness about the Provisions of the Panchayats (Extension to the Scheduled Areas) Act, 1996 (PESA Act).
The investigators also claim he had frequent tiffs with Isha since she was not in favour of his continuation of his relationship with his first wife.
Two arrests in the Jharkhand actress Ria Kumari alias Isha Ali murder case notwithstanding, Howrah rural police are still to ascertain the actual motive behind the alleged murder, in which the actress’s husband Prakash Kumar along with his brother Sandip Kumar had been arrested.
Police are yet to obtain any confessional statement regarding Prakash Kumar’s complicity in the alleged murder. A senior officer in the Howrah city police commissionerate said, that Prakash Kumar was still holding to his story on the alleged involvement of a group of miscreants, who had shot his wife to death while trying to commit a robbery on the National Highway and claiming himself to be innocent.

With hardly any headway in coming up with any substantive leads that will substantiate the charges against the accused, as they are yet to trace the murdered weapon, senior district police officers, claimed a source, are now planning to visit Jharkhand to get first hand information regarding the marital status of Kumar, who the investigators claimed had taken Isha as his second wife. The investigators also claim he had frequent tiffs with Isha since she was not in favour of his continuation of his relationship with his first wife.

The sleuths were also examining the complaint lodged by the actress’s family on alleged physical torture by Kumar, since he was allegedly eyeing her life insurance to repay his long pending debts. On Wednesday, at a place near Bagnan, Howrah on the national highway 34, the actress was murdered in the car allegedly by a group of miscreants, while her husband had alighted to respond to nature’s call a short distance away from his car.
He told Bagnan police that the miscreants while trying to rob his wife, fired upon her from point blank range while decamping with cash and ornaments as she tried to resist them. He claimed he had to drive a few kilometres from the place of occurrence in search of a hospital to get her wife admitted.
